My husband and I saw clips of people’s adventures with Ecuador freedom bike rentals a few years ago and dreamed of one day having our own adventure. We finally made it happen this August! We were the only people to book the Introduction to Ecuador tour for August this year so we essentially had a private tour. Jhordy was an excellent guide who took some epic photos of our journey. He guided us over the Andies mountains, down to the Pacific Ocean, back up and over the Chimborazo volcano and down into the Amazon, ultimately back over the Andies into Quito to finish our trip. Along the way we went to a museum situated on the equator, historic haciendas, beautiful farms, and bustling cities. There were stops for amazing food throughout our adventure, a fruit market, small roadside stand for some traditional snacks and of course wonderful restaurants. We saw so many farms along our route. Among the crops we saw Cocoa, mangoes, dragon fruit, pineapple, rice, sugar cane, bananas, and passion fruit. I’m sure I’m missing some of them. We hiked down and swam under a waterfall, zip lined above them and stayed in a hostel with a beautiful view of them. We were privileged enough to tour some Incan ruins. There last night of the tour we spent in the Amazon. We got to see some monkeys, one was only a couple feet away from me. We took a night time boat ride to see some of the native wildlife. If you are thinking about doing something like this we highly recommend you make it happen, you only have one life, live it to the fullest!

I had an amazing experience with Ecuador Freedom Bike Rental. I did the Inca Royal tour, and it was absolutely stunning. The organization was flawless, and following the route and points of interest with the GPS was very easy. The motorcycle had been thoroughly inspected, everything was in perfect condition, and they equipped me with brand-new Mosko Backcountry bags. Before my departure, Court took the time to carefully go through each day of the itinerary and explain the do’s and don’ts of riding in Ecuador. Throughout the trip, both Court and Sylvain checked in to make sure everything was going well. The landscapes are truly breathtaking, especially Day 8 at Chimborazo Lodge. That day and night were magical for me, watching the stars over the volcano was an unforgettable experience. The hotels, hosts, and food were all good throughout the tour, and I never got sick or had any issues. A small piece of advice: take some time to acclimatize before the tour. Altitude can cause headaches and shortness of breath at the beginning. Also, while weather is always a gamble, it’s best to avoid the rainy season if possible. I went in January and unfortunately didn’t get much good weather. Limited visibility made me miss a few points of interest. I had booked two tours, including the 14-day Enduro tour as a second trip. Due to the unpredictable weather and the fact that I was riding alone, I decided to cancel the Enduro tour. I met other riders doing off-road sections, and they strongly advised against doing it solo. In some cases, they had to push or pull bikes with two or three people, or even turn back because the trails were too muddy. Even though I canceled only a few days before departure, Freedom was very understanding and refunded my deposit, minus a reasonable fee. I will definitely come back. I can guarantee you’ll be impressed by Freedom’s professionalism and by the incredible beauty of Ecuador. I experienced a lot of rain, but when the weather cleared, the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. A big thank you to Freedom for allowing me to live this experience !

We just finished the High Andes, Deep Amazon tour in November 2025 with our guide Camilo - it was great. We saw a couple of Crater lakes, travelled as high as 14,500 ft ASL, travelled to a village in the Amazon, saw saw several volcanos, met with gold miners on the Napo river and so many other great stops. My favorite three parts were 1) putting the bikes in the canoe and going 100 miles into Amazonia 2) swimming in water falls on the side of mountainous dirt road. 3) crossing Columbia to see the church in the ravine. Every day was an adventure with rain, cold and heat, great meals, friendly people, excellent street markets and lots of riding. Every day standing on the pegs climbing and descending. A couple of peaks had some real challenge towards the end of the trip. A great tour Put together by great folks - thanks Camilo and the Ecuador Freedom team

This outfitter is well equipped for the adventure. They put us up in the most amazing accommodations that served great local food during our ride through the mountains. One man, Rico made us some cold cucumber soup that tasted like nothing ive ever had before. In the morning he walked us through his preserved forest. We chose the dirt deluxe self-guided tour and I feel like thats the most technical tour with some very primitive dirt roads that may or may not be maintained. There were fresh mudslides we had navigate across with crazy exposure and come out in some remote native Village or right near tge edge of a volcano crater. We went through some rainforest that made us feel very tiny. If you want leisure I would choose one of the more street oriented options on the menu. Next time I hope to do a street tour on their Africa twin or Vstrom. Whatever you do, bring some good rain gear. It never gets very cold, but a daily rain storm should be expected. Get an earlier start than recommended if you can. At 6 o'clock it gets dark really fast.

I wanted to percolate on this trip for a couple weeks before writing this review. I needed some time to really soak in the gratitude that grew and grew the more I looked back and reflected on my 4 day adventure with Ecuador Freedom Bike Rental. I booked the 4 day/3 night Off Road Adventure over Thanksgiving break. I was extremely hesitant about traveling to Ecuador based on some of the recent headlines (I try to take those with a grain of salt - for the most part). Since this was a solo trip, I wanted to be sure I covered all of my bases and knew exactly what I was getting into and what to expect. The staff at EFBR were attentive, knowledgeable, professional, and overall extremely welcoming. They gladly answered my hoards of questions, even offered to assist with booking lodging before and after trip (unnecessary but it was a nice touch). This company has the whole “adventure excursion/moto rental” business perfected and their system runs like a well oiled machine. From the staff, the bikes, the hotels we stayed at, the routes taken. Everything has been planned and organized/optimized to create the best Ecuador adventure possible. The hotels we stayed at were incredible. To name a few - Hotel Mama Hilda in Chugchilán; La Posada del Arte in Banos; and El Jardin Lodge and Spa just outside of Tena (Amazon). Each one of them 10/10. I also had the pleasure of being guided by the owner himself, Court. He really is an interesting guy, so full of knowledge, and I really appreciated how he really looked after me on this trip. I am no stranger to being on two wheels but this type of off-roading definitely tested my limits. He kept me safe, he kept me in check, and made the trip something I will never forget. Thank you, Court. For anyone out there looking for an Ecuador adventure. These people are them. They know their stuff, they offer great prices, and they’re just good people.
