Highly recommend this place, especially for Americans (since the American International Drivers License does not work in Vietnam). I was able to rent a motorcycle with no fuss (despite my dubious license) and for a good price. The owner is very friendly, and even though his English sometimes comes across as harsh, his good intentions are clear. We also asked what the going rate for the "penalty" was (which all Americans will have to pay if stopped). He was spot on with the price and told us what we could negotiate to. The motorcycle was able to climb the Ha Giang mountains with no issues (make sure to be in gear 1 for steeper sections). There is no clutch (and therefore no way to stall the bike), which might be slightly weird at first, but in general makes riding much easier. It was also easily able to carry two backpacks (straps were provided). The Ha Giang Loop was gorgeous, and well worth the price of the bike + "penalty".

Rented a motorbike from the place. Was quick and easy. If you are planning to do the ha giang i would recommend getting the nicer bikes. My bike was new with low mileage - about 18000 km. The ha giang is 3-4 days with lots of steep hills and rocky terrain so i wouldnt cheap out on the bike. Mr trung also said he knows the cops and made calls so that the cops wouldnt hassle me but i was lucky and didnt really meet any cops during my trip. Definitely glad i did the trip solo.

Rented for 2 days, charged for 3. Be careful. Rented a 50cc scooter from Saturday 11am to Monday 11am — exactly 48 hours (2 days). The rental tried to charge me for 3 days, claiming that returning it before 12am counts as an extra day. Very disappointing and clearly not customer-friendly. Please double-check how they calculate rental days before booking.
