This is going to be a long post, but it is worth reading because of the excellent service provided by the car rental company. When I made the decision to rent a car in Sri Lanka, I was faced with multiple challenges as I require a local driving permit, and was unaware of the local customs and rules. After enquiring several companies, rentalcarssrilankalk is the most proactive, and one of the most customer-centric car rental company I’ve worked with. Communication is effective, they are quick to response via WhatsApp, with clear, precise information about the car’s age, photos and price. I specifically requested for a car with in-car-camera and they also managed to find a car to suit my needs. Though the car is slightly old in age (as Vehicle Imports were banned in Sri Lanka for some time), the car is reliable. It withstood hundreds of kilometres with me through crazy traffic, mountains and beaches. It is a small car but the handling is great. Pickup and dropoff is also seamless, both at the Airport. We communicated via WhatsApp and everything was settled smoothly. They assisted with my local driving permit at a cost of 45 USD, inclusive of 10 USD service fee which is very reasonable. If there are any skirmishes along the way, they are always quick to respond, as with my minor brush with a Tuk-Tuk. They also have detailed quick-references on speed limits, tolls, parking which are useful for 1st time drivers in Sri Lanka. Thank you for the assistance and keep up the great work!

Great experience! The car was super clean, well-priced, and ready on time. Communication was excellent from the moment we landed till the handover; they even checked in during the rental to make sure everything was good. Really friendly and reliable service. Highly recommend! Also advised us on how to get the Sri Lankan license ourselves at the airport once we land (took only 5 mins) for a fraction of a price while the other rentals asked for $50.

I would give them more than 5 star rating. Everything was extremely smooth and transparent. I booked a small car but on my arrival they upgraded my car without any additional cost. They dropped and picked up the car from airport for my convenience because I was traveling with kids and that made sense for me. The car was in excellent condition I drove from one part of srilanka to another and all the way back, did not had a single issue anywhere. I was assisted on my driving permit and on my arrival it was ready. And they will reply you within a minute. Security Deposit was minimal and was returned without any question on car return. Completely satisfied and highly recommended for hassle free service. Highly recommend.

We rented a car from this company during our trip to Sri Lanka, and we couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. Finding a reliable car rental service can be challenging in Sri Lanka, especially for first-time visitors, but this company made it easy. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided detailed instructions and assistance, which was incredibly helpful. The car we received was practically new and performed flawlessly over the 18 days of my rental. We encountered no issues whatsoever, which made our travels much more enjoyable. I highly recommend this company for anyone looking to rent a car in Sri Lanka. Just keep in mind that driving here requires excellent driving skills, as the roads can be quite demanding. But with the right preparation, it’s a fantastic way to explore the island!

Communication and booking experience was overall seamless, but the customer service comes with a bit of an attitude. The car itself was really bad - it looked like it was refitted after an accident: fresh paint on one of the sides, poorly fitted rear bumper with visible gaps, front number plate all dented, interior bits falling apart, rear view mirror rusty and half visible (later on the road discovered that breaks were really unreliable and water nozzles for screen wipers not working). The team’s response was: “the car is totally fine and minor scratches are OK” and effectively it was take it or leave it for us. We had no choice, so we took it, but that attitude was really disappointing. On the upside the fuel economy was good, the car was small enough for the busy and narrow Sri Lanka roads and overall rental price of $45/day wasn’t too demanding (although you have to consider the quality of the vehicle you’re getting), but as the saying goes “you pay peanuts, and you get monkeys” - I’m glad we returned it all safe and sound. Not recommended.
