AVIS Car Rental - Shangri La Ulaanbaatar Mongolia

Hired two LC from Mike and his team for 16 days self drive tour around Mongolia, one of the best experience I ever had, the trucks are as good as brand new and came well equipped for camping and overlanding. Mike provided support throughout our journey to ensure a hassle free experience despite the language barrier, and everything went smoothly. The musical performance arranged by Mike during our last night made the whole trip even more memorable. Definitely coming back to Mongolia for more adventure and Avis is the choice if you want to see the real Mongolia.

After initial problems with the booking, which were solved immediately and helpfully by AVIS, the rental went smoothly. The contact was extremely pleasant and individual pick-up and drop-off locations could be arranged. The car was almost brand new and perfectly equipped for an 18-day round trip. We would especially like to thank Mark, who was available to us throughout the entire trip and offered further services such as translations, route planning and recommendations in addition to car-related concerns! I can only recommend Avis and especially Mark for a self-organized trip through Mongolia!

My husband and I had never been to Mongolia before, but we were determined to make the most of our adventure by going out into the steppe and off-roading into the Mongolian countryside, and I must say that we were absolutely in the best hands with the Avis Car Rental team in Ulaanbaatar! We had super friendly staff (I remember Bill especially but all were amazing) assisting us, The team was polite, helpful, extremely experienced and replete with good advice about the best routes to travel, and unique cultural customs in Mongolia! Our car itself was a super modern and well equipped Land Cruiser specifically suited for the off-road adventures we had described to Avis when we made our booking! We felt completely safe as well with the office in frequent contact with us as we drove further into the country always keeping a line of communication just in case we ran into any unexpected issues (luckily we didn’t but it was nice to know we had them looking out for us)! We will certainly be back to Mongolia again soon as there’s soo much more to be explored and experienced here, and I have no doubt that Avis Mongolia will be our partner in that once again!

Picked up our car right at the airport and received a clear briefing before setting off. The Avis team was fantastic, and the car itself was reliable and perfect for the Mongolian terrain.
