I had an amazing time with the Yamaha WR155. What an amazing bike to drive. Especially to go offroad. Prices are a little high though in my opinion. But what a great bike to drive. Amazing suspension!

I had great service from Mad Monkey. We phoned ahead to make sure that they had bikes available. We chose a Honda PCX 160 and a Honda Click. Both bikes were clean, well maintained and trouble free. We were well briefed on the loop and given a comprehensive map showing places of interest, accommodation and where on the road to be cautious. We also had to sign to say that we would lock the bikes with a disc lock overnight to prevent theft. There were no issues when we returned the bikes. Overall a great service.

I would recommend this place if you are organised and can follow rules 😉 The communication with the owner was good and productive. He gave good tips and a map of the loop and showed which places were closed/not working, so I didn't waste my time going there. It was very helpful, I could choose other locations instead and finished loop at the scheduled time. The main features of renting are: 1. It doesn't matter what time your rental started, it will last until 18:00 of the last day of rental. If you return bike later than 18:00 it will considered as an extra full day and you should pay for that 2. You will get a bike with a full tank, and you should return it full. Otherwise, you will be fined for n sum + the price of refuel. 3. You are renting a bike for the thakhek loop, so you are not allowed to make trips far out of the loop . You will be fined if you do. 4. You can not go to kong lor cave through the off-road (there are two ways to reach cave, one of them is before the thalang village, but the road is in bad conditions) 5. You always should use locker(no fine, but it's good for you first of all) 6. They have free and rent helmets. For loosing the free one, you'll pay if I'm not mistaken 10$, for rental one 100$. About the bike. I rented klx 150, it's not new but in good condition. There were two minor problems: 1. Speedometer doesn't work 2. Sometimes(especially in the mornings), it's hard to start. But there's something like a lever on the left-hand side which you can use to start and warm up the engine (ask the owner how to use it). That's it, there were no problems except these two ones and I really enjoyed my trip, the bike is easy to control, light, can easily go through muddy road and fast enough to enjoy speed on highways.

We rented motorbikes and a scooter. At first everything seemed fine besides the bizar high price for rent. They rent out damaged bikes, but they work. When I came back the indicator light cover was missing. Just a small Piece of plastic. They told me that they needed to change the whole indicator. Just lies because on every street corner you can buy a new one. They refused the give back my passport after multiple attempts from my site. I felt very threatened and the only option was to pay $30. A Crazy amount of money. I will never rent here again and hope people look for other rentals and not become victimized.

We rented a Honda Rebel 300 from Mad Monkey. We also rented a car from Wang Wang and another bike from Wang Wang. The difference was huge. I can't recommend Wang Wang enough. Just go there. The bike from Mad Monkey had not been serviced or fixed. The chain was a nightmare and the kickstand fell off ... Three times. I went to three bike shops on the route to get the chain cleaned out and the kick stand fixed. By the end, I had to tie up the kick stand with zipties to get it back to Mad Monkey. After explaining all of the issues with the bike and asking to see the service history, the owners were obnoxious and threatening. In the end, I had to pay a big fee just to get my passport back. I can't recommend Wang Wang more highly however. They were terrific and much nicer people. Please, just go there. Avoid this place especially if you want a big bike - seems like the Honda CBF is in need of fixing too judging by the reviews.
